My actual fourth birthday, all the way back in the age of disco.
The Happy Furry Puppy Story Time family of blogs turns four today. Here's the first post, authored on May 25, 2003, if you need proof. Related posts: a resolution-filled 1st birthday, a kind of post hoc 2nd birthday get-together, and the infamous 3rd birthday roast (my rebuttal to the rabble here and a wrap-up here).
No random music today, but I thought I'd leave a few remarkably crisp black and white clips of blues musicians from back in the day. Clockwise, from top left, we have Hound Dog Taylor (with Little Walter on the harp), Koko Taylor (with Little Walter again), Sonny Boy Williamson II (with a song that became a Nick Cave album title), and Lightnin' Hopkins.
Well, I'm off for the Memorial Day weekend. Nothing fancy this time around, just an open thread for my three regular commenters, as well as various well- and ill-wishers. And, of course, those delightful laminate flooring spammers. At least I left everyone a present with that latest press conference re-mix. Ciao!
One more thing: here's Homer at an outdoor rave. Play Daft Punk's Harder Better Faster Stronger over the top of it to get the full effect.
You don't look a day over three. Congratulations!

Posted by: Montag at May 25, 2007 07:00 AMHappy birthday! I always forget about the quotes at the top of ye olde blog... the only one I ever recognized was Bill from "King of the Hill". Good times.
Posted by: Stacia at May 25, 2007 07:13 AMWould you believe that of all the Little River Band videos available on the interwebs, "Happy Anniversary Baby" is not among them?
Time for your birthday spanking!
I think RoD turned 3 this week, but...umm...I forgot. Anyway, since it's 9 AM and I'm drinking in bed, here's to 4 more years!
Posted by: Res Publica at May 25, 2007 09:03 AMAt least you were a child during the age of disco. I was a hormonal teenage boy, wait, that's redundant.
Might splain our differences on music. And the fact you live in Austin.
Happy B-day.
