Gentlemen! We're not gonna take it from those frightened, pregnant teens anymore!
Before you go further, you may find reasonable commentary on the issue here.
(1) Does it really matter that the Senate passed a Draconian law making criminals of sympathetic relatives out-of-state, ethical doctors who assist in procuring an abortion for pregnant underaged girls IF said pregnant underaged girls reside in a state where there are no clinics offering such a medical procedure?
(1a) What if the state passed an unconstitutional law banning abortions? Would you need parental notification to drive yourself into sovereign Sioux land?
(2) What the hell is wrong with the Senate?
(2a) Isn't there anything else that requires their attention apart from stigmatizing and criminalizing already traumatic and difficult decisions for girls who might be afraid to tell their parents what's going on?
(2b) You know, like oversight into Afghanistan's reimposition of religious police (on a country already close to unmanageable anarchy), the Administration ignoring valid Supreme Court decisions through bastardous pieces of proposed crap-legislation, or the fact that they were kept in the dark about an Administration-approved expansion of Pakistan's nuclear program?
(2c) Say, if that isn't sufficient to stop your interference in valid medical procedures for girls in dire straits, how about global warming? An unsustainably stupid taxation and revenue system?
(3) Am I talking to myself here?
Looking at that picture and reading this, all I can think of is, "Gentlemen, we have to protect our phoney-baloney jobs."

What is wrong with this effing country?
Posted by: townser at July 26, 2006 09:46 PMIt's so simple...If teenagers actually followed the president's abstinence-only policy, we wouldn't have to worry about abortion!
Posted by: comandante agi at July 27, 2006 09:22 AMLove the image of the out-of-touch white male douchebags imposing their "daddy state" vision on teenage women. It's as if they believe that if they sign and support this legislation their own daughters and granddaughters won't get knocked up and try to sneak off and have secret abortions.
